Course Overview

Designed to give a strong foundation for those new or recent to the stone restoration industry, or for the more seasoned contractors to learn ways to improve efficiency and productivity, this essential marble and stone restoration training course is an intensive five days of hands on training that will prepare you for jobs in the real world. There is a five-student maximum per class, which means you'll get plenty of one-on-one time with the instructors to ask questions and get feedback. You will have your own equipment to use, so there won't be any waiting and watching for your turn while others work. We have over a thousand square feet of stone on the floors and have over twenty different types of stones to work on. You'll learn a lot about each of the following processes, with the majority of your time spent actually working on the stone.

This course includes:

  • Masking and protecting surrounding areas
  • Determining stone damage
  • Grinding and honing
  • Feathering
  • Basic Repairs
  • Lippage removal
  • Tile removal and replacement
  • Hand grinding
  • Working with marbles, terrazzo, limestone and travertine
  • Polishing floors to a beautiful gloss finish
  • Bringing floors to a honed finish

    Amazing Job

I liked how classroom time was short but informational so we had more hands-on time to practice what was covered in the classroom.Doug and Butch did an amazing job explaining the process on everything and even allowed us to make mistakes so we could learn from them and not make those mistakes again.
